The story takes place in the city of Menoth, which was established by Lord Godalming during his reign.As stated by the author, Lord Godalming played an important role in the establishment of the nation, and was the creator of the Wazir - the wizard Endorere. In his time, the nation was ruled by a prince named Axworth. This character, however, would not last long, and Lord Godalming banished him to the south of the world, where he passed away. Although the king was sad about his death, he decided to throw a great party for Axworth's heirs, who would be a welcome addition to the royal family.He also wanted to hear news about his mother, who had vanished several years earlier. The party was originally hosted by a wizard named Beliebide, but he was killed before the party. Before leaving, the wizard told the party attendees that the fate of Menoth would be sealed i f no one gave their lives during the party.Shortly after the party, a young boy named Mattias fell off a bridge and died. Knowing that he must make this life difficult and end it abruptly, the wizard decided to seal the fate of Menoth into the dreams of the partygoers. The king entrusted this responsibility to a young girl named Shauna, whom he had taken as his daughter.To seal the fate of Menoth, the Wizard Fate forsaken price visited Shauna's mind and wished to see her triumph over the girl that he had once known. This was Shauna's first and only attempt to reach destiny, and she failed miserably.Just before the event, Shauna found a dream of the land of Eir, which is one of the places that the wizard had promised to the future queen. She knew that she had to leave her current self to find the place, and convinced herself that this journey was the only way she could live on.Fate forsaken price did appear to her once more, and this time he brought with him a follower of fate. These people seemed to be the only ones that knew where Eir was located, and they were heading towards the kingdom. When the two arrived, they found that the future queen had already fallen into a coma and never awakened.In order to regain the throne, the wizard Fate forsaken price confronted Axworth, who in turn revealed that he had placed a curse on Shauna. The event also was the start of a duel between the two wizards, until Axworth fell unconscious. The future queen then was able to realize that the curse was one that kept Axworth from being able to rule, and since her defeat of her brother she was now the true ruler of the kingdom.
